New technologies have a great impact on our society. They have brought about many changes at the social level, especially in the field of communication.

Nowadays children have access to their relatives' mobiles and tablets from birth (parents, grandparents, uncles, etc.). This makes the little ones assimilate with great speed the use of these new technologies in everyday life.

Passing the pack is the new form of bullying between children and adolescents, Do you know what it consists of?

Social networks are communication channels that arise in order to facilitate people's lives. Thanks to them, the dissemination of ideas and content is facilitated. Its use implies a change in people's behavior. Furthermore, it involves a redefinition of values.

The good use of new technologies through social networks brings with it many advantages such as the development of capacities such as creativity and communication. But for these benefits to occur, it will be necessary that from home and school children are actively taught to use them. That is, adults will set rules and limits on the use of new technologies.

If, on the contrary, adults are passive in this situation and allow children to use technological devices without adequate guidance, then problems may appear.

Many adults do not know, nor do they know the operation of the social networks that children use regularly to communicate and, therefore, do not realize the risks involved in their use.

A new craze among tweens and teens is "passing the pack." This new practice consists of sharing through social networks such as WhatsApp or Facebook, among others, or through easily accessible links to a set of sexual photos and videos of other people without their consent.

Thus, young people are exposed to risks such as losing their privacy and being extorted. This fashion comes from another use of the networks called "sexting". This is a risky practice that increasingly occurs in adolescents. It consists of the voluntary sending of photos of a sexual nature via mobile phone or webcam to someone you "trust".

Discussions, blackmail, extortion and harassment mean that this type of private photos is disseminated openly in the form of packages and gives the effect of "passing the pack". The curiosity of the receivers does the rest.

- Be active. The attitude of adults must be active by setting rules and limits in which the child can move. For example, that they have limited hours of use, inform and control children's access to the pages allowed according to their age, use the devices in full view of the adult, etc.

- Instill values. Talk and transmit to the children a code of behavior towards people. For example, be benevolent, take care of friends, be committed, be respectful towards others.

- Responsible for your privacy. They should teach children that they should not share intimate photos or personal data to others even if they are insistent, and much less to strangers.

- Be an example. Parents are to be the mirror where children are reflected. The best way for young people to learn is by example.
