There is a part of everyday life in families that is invaluable for education and promote the autonomy of our children, I mean errands. Errands are very important to our children, they are a good form of independent learning and a very effective way to integrate the importance of responsibility.

We explain why errands are exceptional learning for children and from what age can children begin to do them.

The term learning errands doesn't last longSo if parents don't let their children do them, they will make them lose this important learning. This function fulfills several important educational items:

- Makes children acquire autonomy and responsibility.

- Get children to know how to face new situations with certain guarantees of success.

- For parents it is a great opportunity to let their children face these types of situations individually.

I have been able to identify that The errand moment has three clearly defined phases:

1. First phase (8-10 years): The first phase, usually occurs between 8 and 10 years. During this period, we began to send our children on simple errands: go buy bread, newspaper or milk. Simple errands to run and a short distance from home. This moment is characterized by the obsession that children have to show their parents their ability to do well. Therefore, it is a moment where according to what they come to buy the bread, they will tell you that they had 5 euros and since the bread has cost them 1.20 they give you back 3.80 euros. It is a moment where they control everything, the money they had, what it cost them and the returns they have brought.

It is a time where they need to make us see that they are smart enough not to be fooled. This errand moment comes to last a year, a year and a half.

2. Second phase (10-12 years): The next moment of errands is somewhat more complicated. It usually occurs between the ages of 10 and 12, and it is the moment where children have shown you that they are valid for running errands and that they are not deceived and that is when they discover the wonderful world of "I deserve it" that consists of buying , with the bread turns, a bag of snacks or sweets.

It is very curious that at this moment, they begin to forget how much money they had and even how much their bread has cost them, 'acting a little foolish' wanting to obtain their benefit in the form of sweets, or ice cream.

This second moment is also crucial in learning, since it encourages them to make their own decisions independently and as parents we have to be aware that we are educating them on the right track.

3. Third phase (13-14 years): The third moment is when this collaboration stops, at that moment when they discover that they have already shown us that they are valid, they have learned to "sisar us" to buy their perks and the moment of rebellion arrives and they stop going for the errands, telling you to go, because they have already lost motivation. This 3 moment usually occurs about 13-14 years.

Therefore, I recommend that during the two or three years that this collaboration period lasts, take advantage of them to do so, otherwise you will not be able to enjoy it and you will lose the opportunity.

There are fathers and mothers that due to fears and insecurities they are not able to let their children run "errands"If this happens, keep in mind that there will be a time when you will no longer live these phases, which are so wonderful, so be afraid and as soon as possible send him… for bread.
